STORY: Dominic was born in Italy. He had nine siblings and his family was poor but hardworking and faithful. Dominic was a very prayerful child, often stopping at the Church to pray. If it was locked, he would pray outside. He became an altar server and received his First Communion at age 7 even though the practice at the time was to not receive the Sacrament until age 12. He met the future Saint, Don Bosco, and entered the seminary. Unfortunately he became ill and died soon after; he was 14. His witness and striving for holiness made an impact on all those around him. Don Bosco later wrote “The Life of Dominic Savio”.
