STORY: Saint Bridget was brought up in a poor, religious family. She is said to have seen a vision of Christ crucified when she was young. She lost her mother when she was 9, and got married when she was 13; she had 8 kids: 4 boys and 4 girls. Through a family connection, the King of Sweden asked Bridget to help education and form the young Queen. After her husband died, she founded a new religious order modeled after Mary in the upper room with the apostles.
