STORY: When she was 18, Clare heard St. Francis of Assisi preaching and wanted to give her life to Christ like he did. Although she came from a wealthy family, and her parents wanted her to marry someone rich, she followed Francis and started a community of religious women dedicated to prayer. She was especially devoted to Christ in the Eucharist. Her sister also joined the community and they dedicated the rest of their lives to prayer.
