
STORY: Born in Catalonia, Spain, to a weaver, St. Anthony had the desire to enter the Jesuits, but was ill and could not enter. Later he founded the Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, known as Claretians. He was archbishop of Santiago in Cuba and the spiritual guide of Queen Isabella II (in Spain). He was exiled with her and died in France. He was known for prophecy and miracles.
