
STORY: Saint Elizabeth of Hungary was the daughter of the King and Queen of Hungary in the 1200s. From an early age she was engaged to a nobleman in Germany who she eventually married. They were happy and had three children. She used her royal influence to serve others, donate to the poor and care for the sick. After her husband died she dedicated her life to God as a third order Franciscan and continued serving others.
