
STORY: Edith came from a large Jewish in Poland. She was a brilliant student studying philosophy who became interested in Catholicism. She was baptized in the cathedral in Cologne, Germany. Eleven years later she became a Carmelite nun. Because of the persecution of the Jews, during WWII, Sister Teresa was sent to the monastery in Holland. Despite those protections, she was found and deported to the concentration camp Auschwitz where she died at the age of 51.
